"As a professional tutor for developmental education, I had the opportunity to use the 'Step Up Your Performance' videos with my students. The program has offered the students the ability to analyze grammar and writing by developing a new and systematic process. Many students have indicated that for the first time, they understand 'how to' proofread their essays."

"The four-step process has taught me how to recognize parts of grammar that I never knew before. I'm now teaching this process to my fourth grade son whose grades have also improved."

"As an engineer/math teacher, I regularly stress to my students the importance of developing strong basic math skills, since these "tools" are the foundation to solving complex problems. Ann's 4-step program creates a similar foundation by identifying and explaining skills, or "tools", necessary for writing grammatically correct, yet interesting, sentences. Specifically through a series of short videos, the majority are less than ten minutes each, grammar topics are presented in a concise, easily understandable, and logical manner. No knowledge of "fancy" English jargon is required. Thus this method removes the "mystery" surrounding such topics as subject/verb agreement, prepositional phrase purpose, as well as run-on sentence and sentence fragment corrections. By completing Ann's 4-step program, students will ultimately strengthen their writing/editing skills and improve their confidence.

"This practical approach to making key concepts understandable and usable is an integral part of developing foundational skills as well as critical thinking. Her methods teach students a visual framework that contextualizes learning. Not only does this approach work well for students who are skill deficient or merely needing a quick refresher, but it also works well for students with limited English proficiency."
