Ann Hamblin has been an educator for over thirty-four years. Beginning her career as a middle school English teacher and a ninth grade coach, Ann began winning the hearts of her students with her unique style of instruction. Students soon learned they could trust her, that she was fair, that she could blend humor with learning, and that her "down-to-earth" practical approach to teaching made learning “real-life.”


Ann G. Hamblin, a tenured professor in developmental education, has over thirty-four years of professional and academic instructional experience, ranging from public to post secondary education. Having served as a professor of Developmental Studies at Amarillo College, Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. Hamblin possesses a passion for helping those who are the most at-risk to realize educational success; she is an innovator who is devoted to enhancing educational opportunities through unique teaching strategies. Her love for learning and for helping others learn has motivated her to develop mastery-based instructional materials in the areas of English, math, reading, and writing; in addition, she has produced numerous instructional videos using her practical approach to learning.


In 1987, she had the opportunity to implement an instructional delivery model for an open-entry/open-exit basic academic skills learning center. This program received statewide recognition and has been replicated by developmental programs throughout the state. The center is designed around the concepts of competency-based instruction combined with mastery learning. The program has earned accolades from area state legislators and has been replicated by developmental programs throughout the state and nation. In 2003, she received her Developmental Education Specialist Certification from the prestigious Kellogg Institute at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. She has earned a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in Mid-Management from West Texas State University.
